There is nothing criminal about Agyapa deal – Richard Ahiagbah.

Richard Ahiagba, the current Communication Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), is dismissing criticisms from the opposition NDC regarding the Agyapa royalties deal. He urges Ghanaians to disregard these criticisms, asserting that there is nothing illegal about the deal.

Ahiagba characterizes the situation surrounding the deal as primarily political, suggesting that the NDC is using it as a tool to discredit the government. He explains that the deal was progressing smoothly in parliament until questions were raised by the minority regarding how the funds would be utilized.

According to Ahiagba, the Agyapa royalties deal is a complex concept aimed at generating value for the country, and not everyone may fully comprehend its intricacies. He suggests that the deal’s complexity could be exploited to sow confusion among the public.

Ahiagba maintains optimism about the potential benefits of the deal, particularly emphasizing the role of mining companies in creating value for the country once the deal is finalized.

In summary, Ahiagba defends the Agyapa royalties deal, portrays criticisms from the opposition as politically motivated, and underscores the potential benefits the deal could bring to Ghana through leveraging mining assets.
