Nigerian musician Burna Boy has been honored by the City of Boston, which has declared March 2nd as Burna Boy Day.
The announcement was made in recognition of the singer’s contributions to advancing African culture and ideals through his music.
Councilor Ruthzee Louijeune has announced in a press release that Burna Boy’s outstanding contributions to promoting African culture and values through his music have been recognized by the city. The press release also highlighted Burna Boy’s advocacy work and his inspiration for discussions on social justice, representation, and equality.
Burna Boy joins Wizkid and Davido as Nigerian musicians on their official day in the United States.
