The Alan and Abu Sakara alliance would wake up the two major political parties – Political marketing strategist

Political marketing strategist Professor Kobby Mensah expressed his belief that the union of Alan John Kyerematen and former Convention People’s Party (CPP) flagbearer Abu Sakara could disrupt the entrenched political landscape in Ghana. According to Professor Mensah, this alliance has the potential to inject a new level of competitiveness into Ghana’s political arena.

Independent presidential candidate Alan John Kyerematen recently announced a strategic collaboration with the National Interest Movement, which is headed by former CPP flagbearer Abu Sakara, in preparation for the upcoming 2024 elections. This partnership, operating under the moniker ‘Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC),’ was formally introduced through a statement issued on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

In the statement, Mr. Kyerematen delineated the objectives of the ARC, scheduled for an official launch on Wednesday, April 17. The primary aim of the ARC is to unite Ghanaians from various backgrounds, with a specific focus on involving the youth and women, with the ultimate goal of electing the first independent presidential candidate in Ghana’s history.

The statement underscored the imperative of breaking the cycle of poverty and steering the nation onto a trajectory of prosperity. By highlighting the shortcomings of the dominant political entities, namely the NDC and the NPP, the Alliance seeks to tackle the longstanding developmental challenges Ghana has faced over the past 32 years. Furthermore, it aims to eradicate divisiveness in Ghanaian politics, the ‘winner takes all’ mentality, and the discontinuity in government initiatives.

The ARC envisages establishing an all-encompassing Government of National Unity, which would represent diverse sectors of society, to formulate a National Development Plan aimed at facilitating Ghana’s economic transformation.

During an interview on Ahotor 92.3 FM, Professor Mensah asserted that the alliance would serve as a wake-up call to the two major political parties in the country. He emphasized that the involvement of Alan Kyerematen and Dr. Abu Sakara signifies their significance in the political landscape and suggests that they cannot be disregarded.

Professor Mensah emphasized the importance of encouraging this alliance, as it has the potential to alter the prevailing ‘winner takes all’ mentality entrenched within the country’s politics.
