Teacher licensure exams is not the optimal method for qualifying teachers for recruitment -Dr. Apaak.

The deputy ranking member on the education committee of parliament Dr. Clement Apaak has reiterated the National Democratic Congress NDC’s commitment to cancel the Teacher Licensure Exams should it secure victory in the 2024 general elections.

According to him, the NDC maintains the stands that, the exams is not the optimal method for qualifying teachers for recruitment.

This follows the National Teaching Council’s decision to offer a 2nd opportunity to trainees who did not pass the 2023 Teacher Licensure Exams.

The council has set March, 2024 as a date for the 8,000 teachers who fell below the required threshold to retake the exams.

During Ahotor news’ interview, Dr. Clement Apaak affirm that, the exams will be abolished if the NDC comes to power.
