Sing-A-Thon: Afua Asantewaa paid Ghc 9,286 but was disqualified by GWR. What caused the delay?

Afua Asantewaa confirmed paying $750 on the 1st February 2023, which is equivalent to Ghc 9,286 to Guinness World Record for priority review.

Afua Asantewaa recently gave an exclusive interview to Joy News, where she revealed that her team had decided to pay for a priority review after waiting for weeks without receiving any official statement from the Guinness World Record regarding her attempt at the longest singing marathon by an individual.

Afua stated that although the fee for the priority review was $650, there were additional hidden charges, which made her pay a total of $750.

It has been roughly 21 days since we opted for the Priority Application service from Guinness World Records. According to their official website, this service guarantees a response within 5 working days.

However, we are yet to receive any update from Afua Asantewaa’s team regarding the status of her sing-a-thon attempt. We are left wondering if she has been disqualified, as her victory would have been in the news by now. Nevertheless, we remain hopeful for a positive outcome, and only time will tell.

Afua Asantewaa recently completed a remarkable singing marathon that lasted for five days and six hours.

The marathon began at midnight on Sunday, December 24 and ended at 7:00 am on December 29.

After completing the record attempt, Afua Asantewaa expressed her gratitude to all those who supported her, whether they were present at the Akwaaba Village or not.

“At one point, I kept asking what day it was, and eventually found out that it was Friday. On behalf of my family, team, volunteers, the media, and Ghana Tourism Authority, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who participated in this attempt. It has been a smooth and successful journey, and we couldn’t have done it without your support. Thank you all!” she said.
