Sad News: Ghana Defender Mohammed Salisu to Miss World Cup as the Centre Back Picks Serious Injury

Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu has suffered a major setback, with AS Monaco confirming he’s torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.

This injury will keep him on the sidelines for 6-8 months, effectively ruling him out of the World Cup.

Salisu, 25, was a key player for Monaco and Ghana, known for his strength, composure, and tactical intelligence.

He played a crucial role in Ghana’s defense, forming a solid partnership with Alexander Djiku. His absence will be deeply felt, especially with Ghana facing England, Croatia, and Panama in the group stage.

AS Monaco has assured Salisu of their full support throughout his recovery. “The Club will support Mohammed throughout his recovery and is behind him all the way,” the statement read.
