Rehoboth Foundation Donates Relief Items to Flood Victims in Alajo

The Rehoboth Foundation, a humanitarian and development organization with offices in Ghana and London, has intensified its emergency response following devastating floods that have displaced families and destroyed properties in parts of Accra, particularly the Alajo area. Registered in Ghana in 2012, the Foundation is committed to training, educating, elevating, and empowering youth while also extending humanitarian support to vulnerable communities across Ghana and beyond.

Over the years, the Foundation has built a strong track record of community interventions, including health outreach programmes in the Central Region of Ghana, where it has adopted 12 villages in the KEEA Municipality near Cape Coast. In these communities, Rehoboth Foundation supports residents by paying National Health Insurance premiums, organizing regular medical outreach exercises, and deploying health professionals to conduct blood pressure checks and general wellness services.

The Foundation’s history of emergency response includes the 3rd June 2015 flood relief outreach in Asylum Down, Adabraka, Chokor, Mallam and other areas in Greater Accra Region, and an intervention on 30th June 2026 where relief was delivered to affected communities in Tema, Gbawe, and Aplaku. These consistent efforts reflect its ongoing commitment to supporting communities during times of crisis and natural disasters.

In response to the recent flooding in Accra, Rehoboth Foundation mobilized resources through internal contributions, partnerships, and support from friends and collaborators.

Working in collaboration with Operation Mobilization (OM) who operate the Logos Ships and Effortless Change an NGO in Ghana, the team provided emergency relief items including 500 bags of sachet water ie 15,000 sachets of water, 500 packs of hot meals and 800 bags of dry food supplies, which were distributed directly to affected families to provide immediate support.

During the outreach, the Country Director of Logoship, Paul Tom Nyama, described the intervention as both emotional and impactful, noting that the partnership demonstrated the importance of collective humanitarian action. He said that while the destruction had been seen on social media, witnessing it firsthand revealed the true scale of devastation, adding that the situation was difficult to comprehend.

Paul Tom Nyama commended Rehoboth Foundation for its coordination, transparency, and leadership in the relief effort, stating that beneficiaries expressed visible joy and gratitude despite their losses. He emphasized that the heavy rains had caused extensive destruction and that many affected families were still in urgent need of assistance, stressing that “we cannot do this alone” and calling for more partners to join the effort.

The Rehoboth Foundation has therefore appealed to individuals, corporate organizations, and development partners to support ongoing relief efforts, assuring that all donations will be transparently managed and directed to verified beneficiaries. The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to standing with affected communities and expanding its humanitarian reach to ensure that no vulnerable household is left behind in this time of crisis.
