Prof Jane criticizes Akufo-Addo for Holding Voters Responsible for Ekumfi’s Development Shortcomings

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, NDC’s 2020 running mate, has criticized President Akufo-Addo’s remarks on Ekumfi’s lack of development.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, in a Twitter statement, accused the president of consistently blaming his failures on those who didn’t vote for him.

President Akufo-Addo revealed that Ekumfi was excluded from national development due to voting against the NPP’s candidate in the 2020 elections.

This disclosure, made during a meeting with Ekumfi’s traditional leaders, faced widespread public condemnation and criticism from political analysts.

The NDC labeled the comments as unpresidential, highlighting the president’s vindictive nature.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged Ghanaians to vote against the NPP in the upcoming December polls, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing local development.

In her post, the former Education Minister called on the president to change his approach, noting his consistent tendency to blame failures on those not supporting him.
She referenced previous instances, including the response to Torgbui Adzonu-Gaga Amenya Fiti V and the flooded areas in the Volta Region.
