President Mahama Returns Home After Co-Chairing Africa Forward Summit and Holding High-Level Talks in Kenya

President John Dramani Mahama, who is spearheading the Accra Reset Initiative, on Tuesday, May 11, co-chaired a high-level Round Table on Health dubbed The Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, under the theme: “Rethinking Global Health and Building Resilient National Health Systems.”

The summit, jointly hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, brought together African Heads of State, global business leaders, development partners, and international organisations to strengthen cooperation on sustainable development, healthcare transformation, and economic resilience across the continent.

During the summit, President Mahama stressed the need for stronger and more resilient healthcare systems in Africa, capable of responding effectively to future global health challenges while ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare for citizens.

On the sidelines of the summit, President Mahama held a series of high-profile bilateral engagements with key global leaders and development partners.

These included meetings with António Guterres, Kristalina Georgieva, and Alvaro Lario.

The discussions focused on strengthening global cooperation, promoting economic stability, enhancing food security, and deepening support for Ghana’s development agenda and Africa’s broader economic transformation efforts.

President Mahama, who attended the Africa Forward Summit in his capacity as President of the Republic of Ghana and African Union Champion for African Financial Institutions on Tuesday night returned to Accra after concluding his official engagements in Nairobi.
