President John Dramani Mahama is set to undertake a two-day working tour of the Upper West Region as part of his ongoing #ResettingGhana Tour, beginning Friday, September 11, 2026.
The tour will focus on inspections of key government projects, including road infrastructure, education facilities, the 24-hour economy initiative and healthcare interventions across selected parts of the region.
President Mahama is expected to arrive at the Wa Airport on Friday, after which he will inspect the Wa-Han Big Push Road project. He will then proceed to the Han Senior High School to inspect selected GETFund projects.
The President’s first-day itinerary will also take him to Nadowli, where he is scheduled to inspect ongoing works on the 24-hour economy market.
Later in the afternoon, he will participate in a Free Primary Health Care durbar at the Fian Health Centre in the DBI District before returning to Wa.
Citizens engagement and project inspections
On Saturday, September 12, President Mahama will continue the tour with an inspection of ongoing works on the 24-hour economy market at Poyentanga.
He will subsequently engage citizens as part of the #ResettingGhana Citizens Engagement with the President, scheduled to take place at the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS).
The President will also inspect selected projects at UBIDS before proceeding to inspect the site earmarked for the new Wa Airport.
The Upper West tour forms part of President Mahama’s broader engagement with regions across the country, providing an opportunity to assessgoing projects and interact with citizens on the government’s development agenda.
