Veteran Nigerian actor and African screen legend Pete Edochie has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, during his visit to Ghana.
The meeting forms part of Pete Edochie’s activities in Ghana as he launches his African Legacy Project, an initiative designed to promote African history, leadership, mentorship and opportunities for the continent’s younger generation.
The project includes a book, documentary film and an African Youth Mentorship Initiative, with an ambitious target of reaching about 500,000 young people across Africa.
During the visit, Sammy Gyamfi welcomed the opportunity for GoldBod to support the youth mentorship initiative, noting its alignment with the Board’s Special Intervention Programme and its broader focus on social impact and economic empowerment.

Pete Edochie’s new book also makes reference to the work of GoldBod, particularly Ghana’s efforts to ensure that the country’s gold resources contribute meaningfully to national development.
The meeting therefore went beyond entertainment, bringing together two prominent figures from the creative and public sectors to discuss issues surrounding youth development, African leadership and economic empowerment.
Pete Edochie, who has enjoyed a celebrated career spanning several decades, has increasingly used his platform to speak about African values, leadership, discipline and the responsibility of the older generation to guide the youth.
His African Legacy Project seeks to extend that message beyond the film industry by using storytelling, mentorship and education to inspire young Africans.
The actor’s visit to Ghana adds another chapter to his long-standing connection with the country and its creative industry, as he continues to champion initiatives aimed at shaping the future of Africa through knowledge and mentorship.
