Ousmane Dembélé Named The Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2025

Ousmane Dembélé has been named The Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2025, recognizing his outstanding performances during the 2024–25 season and into 2025.

The Paris Saint-Germain and France forward capped a remarkable year by winning the prestigious award at the ceremony held in Doha, Qatar, on December 16, 2025. This honor came shortly after he claimed the 2025 Ballon d’Or in September, making him the standout individual performer in men’s football.

Dembélé’s success was built on a transformative season with PSG, where he played a pivotal role in the club’s historic continental treble: winning Ligue 1(as joint-top scorer with 21 goals), the Coupe de France, and the UEFA Champions League—PSG’s first-ever triumph in the competition, highlighted by a 5–0 final victory over Inter Milan in which he provided two assists.

He was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year and UEFA Champions League Player of the Season. Across all competitions in 2024–25, Dembélé recorded impressive tallies, including around 33–37 goals and 15–16 assists in approximately 49 appearances, showcasing his dribbling, vision, and clinical finishing.

Additional highlights from the period included contributions to PSG’s Trophée des Champions win, UEFA Super Cup success (where he earned Player of the Match), and strong showings in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup, despite some injury setbacks.

His resurgence under coach Luis Enrique solidified his status as one of the world’s elite attackers, edging out strong competition from players like Lamine Yamal and others in both the Ballon d’Or and FIFA’s voting process, which involves national team coaches, captains, journalists, and fans.

This FIFA accolade further cements Dembélé’s legacy, adding to his previous achievements like the 2018 World Cup with France and marking the pinnacle of a career that has overcome early challenges to deliver at the highest level.
