Otto Addo named to FIFA Technical Study Group for 2026 World Cup

Former Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has been selected as part of FIFA’s Technical Study Group for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

 

The appointment is another major recognition for the Ghanaian tactician, who joins a distinguished panel of football experts tasked with analysing matches, tactics, player performances, and emerging trends during the tournament.

 

FIFA’s Technical Study Group plays a key role at the World Cup by providing in-depth technical reports and insights aimed at advancing the development of the game globally. Members of the group are usually made up of experienced coaches, former players, and respected football analysts from around the world.

 

Addo’s inclusion highlights his growing reputation in international football following his work with the Black Stars and his experience in European football. The former Borussia Dortmund talent coach has earned praise for his tactical understanding and ability to develop young players.

 

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by United States, Canada, and Mexico, will be the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 teams.

 

Addo is expected to combine his responsibilities with Ghana’s national team while contributing technical expertise to FIFA during the global showpiece.
