NPP polls: Bryan Acheampong predicts 97% votes for Bawumia on Nov. 4 in Eastern reg

Leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and MP for Abetifi, Dr. Bryan Acheampong has said that 97% of Eastern Regional votes in the NPP flagbearer contest slated for Nov. 4 will go to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Dr. Bawumia is facing stiff competition Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Agric Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and former Mampong MP, Francis Addai-Nimoh.

But Dr. Bryan Acheampong believes the race is a done deal for the Vice President.
“At this time of the night, I don’t see where any other candidate is going. I don’t see anybody else beating his excellency the Vice President” he told Francis Abban on State of Affairs.

“There are great and respected people in our party. They will get some votes you have to weigh your strength. If you have 2,000 people chanting your name you may think you have a chance of winning the November polls, but 2,000 is equivalent to 1% of the people going to vote in November”, he added.
Dr. Bryan Acheampong whose predecessor at the Ministry for Food and Agriculture says the is no possible route for victory for the other three contesting.

“If you look at the route to victory for all the other candidates, I don’t see any route to victory for any of my respected senior aspirants in the game. I have looked at the Eastern Region permutation and it is likely that one candidate can get over 97% of votes in the Eastern Region.”

He reveals per data available to him, Dr. Bawumia would garner at least 97% votes of the Eastern Region.
“All the surveys I am getting from the Eastern Region, Dr. Bawumia will get over 97% of the Eastern Region votes. If you look at the surveys from another region, there is really no path to victory for any of the candidates”, he stressed.
