Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy has responded strongly to rapper Sarkodie amid what appears to be a growing disagreement between the two music heavyweights.
In a lengthy post on X, Stonebwoy addressed Sarkodie directly, challenging him to mention the names of people he allegedly associates with who have disrespected the rapper.
Stonebwoy questioned what he described as Sarkodie’s attitude towards his feelings, saying he believes the rapper has developed a “landlord mentality” in their relationship.
The BHIM Nation boss also responded to the issue of who reaches out to whom, explaining that although Sarkodie may be the one who usually calls him, he does not believe that should be used as a basis for one person feeling indebted to the other.
According to Stonebwoy, collaborating or performing together has never been an issue for him. He cited his previous BHIMFEST at the stadium, explaining that when Angel contacted Chief to indicate that Sarkodie and his team wanted to attend, he had no problem with their presence.
Stonebwoy further pointed out that there have been several occasions when he has publicly supported and praised Sarkodie, even when there was seemingly no immediate benefit to him.
He stressed that accountability and responsibility cannot be left out of conversations about resolving problems, suggesting that both sides must take responsibility for their actions and words.
In a particularly blunt statement, Stonebwoy wrote:
“I don’t need to fck with you. I’m straight 🙏 ‘pun intended’”
He ended the post by saying he was returning his attention to “real life issues” and added the hashtag #GhanaMusicMatters.
The latest exchange has sparked conversations among Ghanaian music fans, with many watching closely to see whether the disagreement between the two award-winning artistes will escalate or eventually be resolved.
Both Stonebwoy and Sarkodie remain influential figures in Ghanaian music, making any public disagreement between them a major talking point within the entertainment industry.
