Popular Nigerian content creator Peller has claimed that a bank informed him that most of the foreign currency he attempted to deposit was counterfeit, with the fake notes allegedly valued at nearly $30,000.
According to Peller, he visited a bank to deposit both Nigerian naira and U.S. dollar notes. After processing the naira, bank officials reportedly told him that the majority of the dollar bills he presented were fake.
Peller said he was shocked by the discovery, adding that he knows the individuals who gave him the money but has chosen not to disclose their identities at this time.
The claim has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many users expressing concern about the circulation of counterfeit foreign currency and urging individuals and businesses to verify large cash transactions before accepting them.
