Musiga Urges Gyedu Blay Ambolley and KOD to hold their peace

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) is calling on highlife legend, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, and media personality and impresario, Kofi Otchere Darko aka K.O.D to hold their peace.

The Union is also appealing to all music lovers and their fans to refrain from pouring oil on the situation to ensure that peace abides.

As a Union, we believe that both parties are passionate about the growth, development, and preservation of highlife music.

MUSIGA also believes that schemes like the VGMA all have good intentions for the Ghanaian music industry in general, and highlife music in particular.

It is in that vein that, MUSIGA is calling for calm and that we should all rather focus on how to develop the music industry instead of tearing each other apart.

As we speak, the National Folklore Board has applied to UNESCO for Highlife music to be listed as part of Ghana’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).
