“MPs Urged to Conduct Fact-Checking on Projects Listed in Performance Tracker”— Kofi Adams

Ghanaians must critically evaluate their circumstances amidst the economic hardships they face by closely examining the Performance Tracker accessible on their smartphones and the prices of goods and services across the country.

It’s evident that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has once again resorted to deceptive propaganda, as the delivery tracker failed to meet expectations in 2020, serving as an unreliable gauge of the government’s progress. This revelation was made by the Member of Parliament for Beum, Hon. Kofi Adams, during an interview on the Simpieso Political show on Ahotor 92.3 FM in Accra, hosted by Techer Kojo.

Hon. Kofi Adams emphasized that the Performance Tracker fails to offer any substantial evidence of the government’s achievements, unlike the Delivery Tracker, which was rife with deceit and included projects that didn’t exist. He sees the Performance Tracker as yet another tool of calculated propaganda aimed at misleading Ghanaians.

He challenged his fellow MPs to visit their respective constituencies and district capitals to verify the purported 13,000 projects listed in the Performance Tracker, aiming to expose the government’s deception and propaganda. He pointed out instances such as a hospital project in Dodowa, Greater Accra Region, completed during the tenure of former President John Dramani Mahama, being falsely attributed to the current government.

Hon. Kofi Adams questioned the credibility of projects listed as 95% to 100% complete when, in reality, many of them are still in the planning stages, with some contractors abandoning construction sites.

In another development, the Government of Ghana admitted that 67 entries were inaccurately included in the government’s performance tracker within 48 hours of its launch. In a Facebook post, the government expressed gratitude for the public’s keen interest in the tracker, acknowledging citizens’ commitment to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the information provided.

The Performance Tracker platform aims to provide Ghanaian citizens with easy access to vital information on the government’s performance since 2017. It showcases achievements across 30 ministries, presenting data on government projects, outcomes, impacts, and beneficiaries, empowering users to assess the effectiveness of government interventions.

The government believes that transparently showcasing its achievements can foster accountability, build public trust, and demonstrate its commitment to fulfilling its promises
