Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has made a significant step in his recovery from a long-term injury that has kept him out of action for Anderlecht since the start of the 2025/2026 season.
The 28-year-old, known for his dynamic presence in midfield, had been sidelined due to a muscle injury, which prevented him from participating in competitive matches for the Belgian Pro League side.
On Saturday, Ashimeru marked his return to the pitch by featuring for Anderlecht Futures, the club’s U21 team, in a match against RWDM Brussels. Coming off the bench, he played 27 minutes, signaling a positive development in his rehabilitation process.
His appearance for the U21 side is seen as a strategic move by Anderlecht to help him regain match fitness and confidence before reintegrating into the senior squad.
Ashimeru’s return is a boost for both Anderlecht and the Ghana national team, where he is a key figure. The midfielder, who has previously showcased his versatility and work rate in the Belgian league, will be aiming to build on this milestone and reclaim his spot in Anderlecht’s first team.
Fans will be hopeful that he can stay injury-free and contribute to the club’s ambitions in the ongoing season.
