(LISTEN): OUR SIT-DOWN STRIKE IS STILL IN FORCE- GRADUATES PHYSICIANS ASSISTANTS ASSOCIATION OF GHANA

The Graduates Physicians Assistants Association of Ghana has made it clear that they will not end their sit-down strike unless the Ministry of Health establishes a transition board to create a new body responsible for overseeing and managing their professional affairs.
The strike was initiated by the association on July 13 during which the members withdrew essential services.
The main reason cited for the strike was the perceived disrespect and undermining of their profession by the Medical and Dental Council.
The President of the Association Anthony Ako stated that the members are fully committed to their decision to strike until the Ministry of Health responds positively to their demand.

He further indicated that the members of the Ghana Physicians Association will join the strike next Monday if the government does not intervene immediately.
