Lawrence Agyei names Stephen Oduro as the best player of his era

Former midfield linchpin, Lawrence Agyei has described Stephen Oduro as the best player of his era in the early 2000s.

Lawrence Agyei, who spent time playing for arguably the three most glamorous clubs in Ghana i.e. AshantiGold, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak says in his view the most admirable player in the Premier League during his professional career was ex national star Stephen Oduro.

The former Hearts of Oak midfielder says, he loved and admired Stephen Oduro’s performance and didn’t hold back but easily named him as his best ever local based player for his intelligence and consistency.

According to Lawrence, the mercurial winger was a pleasure to watch and loved his play so much that he couldn’t resist the temptation to name him as his best local based player in his time.

Lawrence Agyei was part of the Hearts of Oak team that won the CAF Confederation Cup competition in 2004 and played in the CAF super cup although he was shown a red card in that game.

Meanwhile Stephen Oduro also retired recently after a successful career spanning more than fifteen years. Oduro started his career with Real Tamale United and ended with Kumasi Asante Kotoko. He also played for the Black Starlets and the Black Stars.
