Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee is set to hold a crisis meeting with head coach Karim Zito this week, following a disappointing four-match winless streak.
The Porcupine Warriors have gone without a win, suffering back-to-back defeats against Basake Holy Stars and Hohoe United, dropping them to 5th place on the Ghana Premier League table with 21 points from 13 matches.
The meeting, led by Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, aims to address Zito’s future at the club, with his position hanging in the balance. Zito was appointed permanent head coach earlier this year after guiding Kotoko to an FA Cup triumph over Golden Kick FC.
Kotoko’s struggles have been attributed to injuries, with Zito citing them as a major factor in their poor show against Aduana FC. Despite this, the team remains committed to bouncing back, with an upcoming match against Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Asante Kotoko recently made changes to its technical team, with Zito returning as Technical Director and Prince Yaw Owusu joining as Assistant Coach. This shake-up aims to turn the team’s fortunes around.
