JM Storms Court to Solidarize With National Chairman Samuel Ofosu – Ampofo

Mr. Mahama was in court together with top echelons in the NDC, including some National and regional executives of the party to throw their weight behind , the embattled National Chairman who is standing trial over a purported leaked tape.

Meanwhile, the legal teams of both Hon. Samuel Ofosu – Ampofo, and a deputy national communication officer , Kwaku Boahen rubbished claims by the Attorney General Madam Gloria Akufo to the effect that, the duo conspired during a meeting involving party communicators to unleashed mayhem on the chairperson of the Electoral commission, rank and file of the NPP as well as the Chairman of the National Peace Council, Professor Emmanuel Asante.

The court presided over by Justice Asiedu after hearing submissions on both sides of the matter by their lead legal counsels, slashed a fine of GHC100,000 each plus two sureties against Mr. Ampofo and Kwaku Boahen.

The Judge, subsequently, implored and directed the AG to furnished all exhibits and fine residual pieces of evidence needed by the first and second respondent respectively before the next adjournment date of the case which falls on the 6 – May, 2016 at 10am.

Party sympathizers, and supporters , including bystanders swamped the court premises to catch a glimpse of proceedings at a very scanty court room which could not contained a sizable crowd.

Security was high as personnel of the Ghana Police Service, including other related security agencies placed at vantage locations and designation to provide security at the court which was hearing one of the landmark political cases in 2019.
