“Imposters Are Ruling Worawora” — Nkosuohemaa Accuses Rival Claimants Amid Deepening Chieftaincy Tensions.

A fresh wave of controversy has erupted in Worawora following explosive allegations by the town’s kosuohemaa, Obaasima Nana Ama Anowaa Boah Nyarko, against individuals currently claiming authority over the Worawora stool.

Speaking passionately during a press conference held at Worawora Dwabirem on Thursday, April 30, 2026, the outspoken queen mother described some persons occupying traditional positions in the town as “imposters” and “foreigners” with no legitimate ties to the royal lineage of Worawora.

The heavily attended media engagement brought together prominent elders, opinion leaders, youth representatives, and influential members of the Adako Oyoko Royal Family, who stood firmly behind the Nkosuohemaa throughout the event.

Addressing journalists with visible frustration and determination, Nana Ama Anowaa maintained that the Adako Royal Family remains the authentic and historically recognized custodian of the Worawora stool, insisting that no other family possesses lawful or customary authority over the traditional throne.

According to her, historical records and oral traditions dating back several generations clearly establish the Adako lineage as the rightful royal family entrusted with the leadership of the area. She explained that their ancestors migrated from the Ashanti enclave before settling in Worawora, where they established a respected traditional system that has endured for decades.

The queen mother further alleged that recent attempts by certain individuals to portray themselves as chiefs have created confusion, tension, and unnecessary divisions within the community. She warned that such actions threaten the peace and unity that residents of Worawora have worked hard to preserve over the years.

Nana Ama Anowaa therefore appealed to national security agencies and the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, to closely monitor developments in the area and take proactive measures to prevent any disturbances arising from the ongoing chieftaincy dispute.

She also used the press conference to issue a stern warning to persons allegedly parading themselves as chiefs, urging them to immediately desist from the practice. According to her, the sensitive and volatile nature of the dispute could easily degenerate into chaos if provocative actions continue unchecked.

Joined by members of the Adako Royal Family and concerned natives of Worawora, the Nkosuohemaa called on President John Dramani Mahama and law enforcement agencies to clamp down on individuals she described as unscrupulous actors determined to tarnish the image and reputation of the historic township.

She painted the people of Worawora as industrious, peaceful, and law-abiding citizens who strongly reject acts capable of undermining the town’s proud cultural heritage and long-established traditional values.

In a strongly worded challenge, Nana Ama Anowaa demanded that any individual claiming authority over the Worawora stool should publicly provide verifiable historical and legal documentation to support such claims. She stressed that anyone unable to do so should permanently refrain from presenting themselves as chiefs of the town.

The queen mother emphasized that meaningful development in Worawora can only thrive under conditions of peace, unity, and mutual respect. She argued that persistent disputes and power struggles would only derail ongoing efforts aimed at attracting investment, improving infrastructure, and creating opportunities for future generations.

In one of the most striking moments of the press conference, Nana Ama Anowaa openly criticized some police officers in the Jasikan area, accusing them of interfering in local chieftaincy matters and contributing to tensions within the community.

She subsequently appealed to the Inspector-General of Police to investigate allegations of misconduct involving certain officers in the district, particularly those she described as notorious troublemakers. According to her, disciplinary action against unprofessional officers would help restore confidence, order, and stability in the area.
