I will take to court all those who did not come to my cleanup exercise – Lashibi Assemblyman threatens

Justice Tettey, the Assemblyman of the Lashibi Electoral Area within the Tema West Constituency, expressed his disappointment with certain constituents who did not participate in a clean-up event he organized on March 9, 2024.

During an interview on Ahotor 92.3 FM, Hon. Justice remarked that he intends to take legal action against those who neglected to join the clean-up effort, viewing it as a deterrent for others.

Ghana faces significant sanitation challenges, with only 25% of the population having access to basic sanitation services, 57% relying on shared or public facilities, and 18% still practicing open defecation. These poor sanitation conditions pose severe public health risks, which also affect the Lashibi Electoral Area.

Honorable Tettey emphasized that improving sanitation in Lashibi is one of his primary objectives as the area’s Assemblyman. He expressed frustration that despite the dire need for cleanliness, some residents fail to participate in efforts to keep the area clean, urging a change in this attitude.
