The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, has pledged to reward the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, with two cows if he successfully settles the enduring Bawku chieftaincy dispute. The conflict over traditional leadership in Bawku has lasted for years, causing significant loss of lives and property, and Dormaahene hopes Otumfuo’s mediation will bring lasting peace.
Addressing misconceptions, Dormaahene said, “Many people think I dislike Otumfuo, but I will prove them wrong if he resolves this long-standing conflict. I will gladly give him two cows left and right because this issue has gone on far too long.”
Meanwhile, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has set November 30 and December 1, 2025, for what is expected to be the final mediation sessions on the Bawku conflict. A statement from Manhyia Palace, signed by Chief of Staff Kofi Badu, expressed gratitude to both parties for their constructive engagement.
“His Majesty commends both sides for their positive cooperation thus far and urges all involved to refrain from any actions that could undermine progress towards a lasting resolution of the Bawku conflict,” the statement read.
