Government Pays Compensation to Farmers Affected by Jinijini Agenda 111 Hospital Project – Berekum West MP

The government has paid compensation to some farmers whose farms were affected by the construction of the Agenda 111 hospital project at Jinijini in the Bono Region, according to the Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Dickson Kyere Duah.

The MP announced this during the commissioning of a Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) Centre at Jinijini, where he provided an update on efforts to address challenges that have delayed the hospital project.

According to Mr. Kyere Duah, the resolution of the court case involving the affected farmers has paved the way for the government to enter into a contract to facilitate the commencement of construction works on the hospital.

The compensation payment is expected to address some of the concerns of the affected farmers, whose lands were impacted by the project. The development marks a step towards resolving the issues that have hindered progress on the proposed health facility.

Some of the farmers have expressed appreciation to the government following the payment, describing it as a welcome development after a prolonged delay. They say the payment brings relief and demonstrates progress in addressing their concerns.

The Jinijini Agenda 111 hospital project is expected to improve access to healthcare for residents in the area and surrounding communities when completed. The resolution of the compensation dispute is expected to help clear the way for the next phase of the project.
