Government Invests in Education and Health Development in Nkoranza North

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkoranza North, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah, and the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Effah Patrick, have jointly cut sod for the construction of new educational and healthcare facilities across the district in the Bono East Region.

The projects include two three-unit classroom blocks, one at Nipahiamoa (Lower Primary) and another at Domeabra (Junior High School) as well as Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds at Boana and Asekye.

The groundbreaking ceremonies, attended by community leaders, residents, education and health officials, and contractors, marked the official commencement of these much-anticipated projects aimed at improving access to quality education and healthcare in the district.

Speaking at the events, Hon. Effah Patrick emphasized that the projects are part of government’s broader commitment to strengthening social infrastructure in rural communities. He noted that the new classroom blocks would replace dilapidated school structures at Nipahiamoa and Domeabra, providing a safer and more conducive environment for teaching and learning.

“The facilities will come with offices, storerooms, dressing rooms, and modern water-closet toilets to meet the needs of both pupils and staff,” the DCE explained.

On healthcare, Hon. Effah Patrick revealed that the CHPS compounds at Boana and Asekye would significantly improve access to primary healthcare services for residents who currently rely on makeshift facilities, including an old gari factory structure.

“The new CHPS compounds will include nurses’ accommodations and will be fully equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to deliver efficient healthcare services,” he stated.

Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah commended the local assembly and contractors for their collaboration, stressing that education and health remain the foundation of sustainable community development. He urged residents to support the projects and take ownership of the facilities upon completion.

All the projects are being financed through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and are expected to be completed within eight months.

Once completed, these initiatives are expected to significantly enhance the educational and healthcare capacities of the Nkoranza North District, bringing essential services closer to the people and fostering local development.
