Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prudent resource management and the efficient utilization of state resources to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians.

Speaking at the 47th commemoration of the June 4 Uprising held at Banda-Ahenkro in the Bono Region, the Vice President stated that the current administration remains focused on ensuring that public resources are directed towards projects and policies that have a direct impact on the lives of citizens.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang noted that one of the government’s strategies to reduce public expenditure and enhance efficiency is the operation of a lean government with fewer ministers.

According to her, despite the reduced number of ministers, members of the government are working diligently and tirelessly to deliver on their mandate and fulfill the expectations of the Ghanaian people.
She emphasized that the government is committed to accelerating national development through the construction and rehabilitation of roads, the development of modern markets, and the expansion of healthcare infrastructure across the country.
These investments, she said, are aimed at improving access to essential services, boosting economic activities, and enhancing the overall quality of life of citizens.

The Vice President further assured Ghanaians that the government will continue to implement policies and programmes that promote social and economic development while ensuring accountability and value for money in the management of public resources.
She called on citizens to support the government’s development agenda and uphold the principles of patriotism, integrity, and sacrifice, which she said were among the ideals that inspired the June 4 Uprising.

The event brought together government officials, traditional authorities, political party supporters, and residents of Banda-Ahenkro to reflect on the significance of June 4 and its enduring lessons for national development and good governance.
