Fred Kyei Mensah Appeals for Peace Amid Obinim Marriage Controversy

Veteran music producer and entertainment personality Fred Kyei Mensah has broken his silence on the ongoing public misunderstanding involving Daniel Kwadwo Obinim and gospel singer Florence Obinim, urging the couple to resolve their differences away from social media.

In a lengthy social media post, Fred Kyei Mensah, popularly known as “Fredyma,” revealed that he has enjoyed a close relationship with the Obinims since 2014 and even lived with them for three years.

According to him, the couple supported him during one of the most difficult periods of his life after he lost his properties and business on June 3, 2016, due to a flood and fire disaster.

The respected entertainment figure described Bishop Obinim and Florence Obinim as one of the most caring and loving couples he has encountered, despite imperfections as human beings.

He expressed disappointment over the public nature of their current disagreement, warning that taking marital issues to social media often attracts criticism, mockery, and lasting damage to family reputations.

Drawing from his own 37-year marriage experience, advised couples to settle their differences privately, stressing that while partners may eventually forgive each other, family members, friends, and the public often hold on to grievances much longer.

He further disclosed that he had personally reached out to both Bishop Obinim and Florence Obinim, encouraging calm and caution during this emotionally charged period. He warned that social media users are quick to judge and rarely show mercy once personal issues become public.

Concluding his message, he appealed to Ghanaians to stop wishing for the collapse of the Obinims’ marriage and instead hope for reconciliation.

He reminded the couple that their children, church members, and public image could all be affected by the ongoing controversy.
