Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has finally addressed the growing rumours surrounding his marriage to wife Florence Obinim, insisting that the couple is not heading for divorce and that there are no problems in their marriage.
The speculation began after Bishop Obinim publicly stated that his wife should not be involved in organising his funeral should he pass away before her. The statement sparked widespread debate on social media, with many interpreting it as a sign of tension between the couple.
However, speaking in a video sighted on Monday, June 9, 2026, Bishop Obinim clarified that his comments had nothing to do with marital issues.
According to him, his decision was made years ago and has been known to Florence since 2015. He explained that he simply wants to prevent any future disagreements between his family and his wife over funeral arrangements.
“I don’t want my family dragging Florence to court; that is why I said she should just attend the funeral as a widow and not be involved in any funeral preparations,” he stated.
The controversial preacher stressed that his marriage remains intact and urged the public not to misinterpret his funeral wishes as evidence of a marital breakdown.
Meanwhile, Florence Obinim has also reacted to the discussion during a radio interview. Responding to her husband’s remarks, she said, “May God bless him for saying what he feels. It would have been painful for him to keep it to himself.”
When asked whether she would attend Bishop Obinim’s funeral if he were to die before her, Florence gave a measured response, saying, “For that, let us put it on hold.”
The comments from both husband and wife have continued to generate reactions online, with many Ghanaians debating the unusual funeral arrangement.
Despite the public controversy, Bishop Obinim maintains that there is no divorce on the horizon and that his marriage to Florence remains strong.
