Empower Your Branches; Don’t Abandon Them – GFL Boss Urges NDC

TEMA, Ghana, 11 April: Abraham Koomson, Secretary-General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to strengthen its grassroots structures and prioritize the needs of its local branches.

According to him, the party must address concerns within its grassroots base, emphasizing that these supporters form the backbone of the NDC’s electoral success or failure.

He warned that at a time when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is intensifying its efforts to reclaim power, the NDC cannot afford to neglect its foundation.

Speaking on Ahotor FM’s Yepe Ahunu show on Saturday, April 11, Mr. Koomson stressed the importance of unity, organization, and sustained engagement at the branch level.

He called on party leadership to remain focused and ensure that the necessary structures, logistics, and support systems are put in place to empower grassroots members.

“The strength of any political party lies in its base,” he noted, adding that the NDC must actively utilize its branches rather than sideline them.

Mr. Koomson concluded by reiterating that investing in grassroots mobilization is key to building a resilient and winning political force.
