Dumsor: how can we trust the gov’t assurance going forward – Jinapor

MP for Yapei-Kusaugu and the Ranking member of parliamentary committee on Energy and Mines, John Jinapor has taken a swipe against the government over his consistent fail in his promises.

According to the vociferous MP, the current intermittent power outages popularly called “DUMSOR” which has bedeviled the nation for the past few days is a results of the government inability to resolve the arrears owed the West Africa Gas Pipe Line(WAPCO) which has resulted in the power crisis the country is facing.

He is of the view that ‘this government cannot be trusted because we were told in July last year that they dealt with the situation and that there will be no problem but what do we see’.

The West Africa Gas Pipe Line (WAPCO) sent a signal that if their arrears are not paid they are going to shut the pipeline, low and behold it’s been shut, they finally sent a letter of caution to the government for the failure to fulfill his part of the bargain of the contract that will lead to the shutdown pipeline.
