The Ghana Culture Forum (GCF) leadership of the Policy and Advocacy task team, made up of General Secretary, Edwina Assan; Vice Chairman, Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, and the Head of the Policy and Advocacy Task Team, met with the Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency to discuss the status of the Legislative Instrument (LI) of Act 1048 of the Creative Arts Agency.
The Executive Secretary, Mr Gideon Aryeequaye, briefed GCF on the developments, stating that queries on the L.I. have been resolved, and it is awaiting submission to Parliament’s subsidiary Legislation Committee .
He also touched on the Creative Arts Fund, for which a stakeholder engagement will be initiatedupon approval by the board of the Creative Arts Agency.
The meeting discussed key aspects of the fund’s implementation, the registration and licensing of creative groups, and clear procedures for accessing funds, and the reporting processes for accountability.
GCF and the Agency will maintain close collaboration to ensure the L.I’s timely passage and effective implementation, reinforcing their commitment to advancing Ghana’s creative industry.
The Executive Secretary expressed his gratitude for the visit, and commended GCF’s efforts towards the development of the Creative industries in Ghana.
