Corruption has become a custom for the President and his government – Mustapha Gbande

The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, said President Akufo-Addo and his government are corrupt. Mr. Gbande thinks corruption has become a custom for the President and his government. He talked about this on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s morning show.

Mr. Gbande said even though Ghanaians voted for President Akufo-Addo, he does whatever he wants, and no one can say anything about it. He mentioned how the President expects chiefs to stand when they greet him at events, showing how arrogant he has become.

He believes it will take Ghana 20 years to fix the country’s image because President Akufo-Addo has damaged it. Mr. Gbande said it’s unprecedented in Ghana for a President to ignore the rule of law, but because Ghanaians are hypocrites, no one is speaking up.

Mr. Gbande also talked about the ongoing limited voter registration. He thinks the Electoral Commission, under President Akufo-Addo’s government, doesn’t want many people to register because they know more people registering means more votes against them. He believes the EC is doing everything possible to stop many people from registering.
