Canceling the licensure exams will be problematic— Education watch Ghana
The former president John Dramani Mahama has toured some parts of Wenchi in the Bono region. During this tour, he pledged to cancel the Teacher’s Licensure Examination which is generating some controversy.
Despite been hailed as a measure to ensure quality of teachers, Mr. Mahama is not in support of the policy. “How is it possible that students who attend Training colleges for four years and write exams at the end of the academic year, and then you tell them to write an examination again before they can be teachers”? Mr. Mahama quizzed
But the Executive Director of Africa Education Watch Kofi Asare said, it would be worrying for the next Government to cancel the policy.
He however warned the NDC to provide alternative best practices. Mr. Kofi Asare made the call on 3fm and monitored by Ahotor FM news desk.
