Bryan Acheampong must be arrested immediately for his treasonable comments – Security Analyst

Security analyst Richard Kumador has vehemently called for the immediate arrest of Bryan Acheampong, the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, following his controversial statements regarding the transition of power after the 2024 presidential election. Acheampong’s remarks, according to Kumador, amount to treason, warranting swift action from law enforcement.

Describing the comments made by the Agriculture Minister as treasonable, Kumador stressed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) must take decisive action to apprehend him, asserting that Acheampong must be held accountable under the law.

Bryan Acheampong has reiterated his stance from last year, asserting that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stands no chance of winning the upcoming 2024 elections. He boldly stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is resolute in retaining power and will not entertain the prospect of handing it over to the NDC.

“I stood here in Mpraeso last year and made it clear that the NDC will never emerge victorious in the December 7 polls. Consequently, the NPP will not relinquish power to them because their electoral success is implausible. If they cannot secure electoral victory, why should they be entrusted with power?” remarked Acheampong defiantly.

In response to Acheampong’s statements, the security analyst condemned them as irresponsible and inflammatory. He emphasized the detrimental impact such rhetoric could have on the democratic process, labeling the remarks as regressive.

Speaking on Adekyee Mu Nsem on Ahotor 92.3 FM, Richard Kumador warned of potential destabilization if the opposition were to react to Acheampong’s assertions. Therefore, he stressed the urgency of Acheampong’s arrest to forestall any further escalation of tensions that could jeopardize the nation’s stability.
