The 2026 Ghana Music Awards Europe (GMAEU) has celebrated some of Ghana’s biggest music stars, with Black Sherif emerging as the artiste with the highest number of awards on the night.
Black Sherif took home four awards, while Stonebwoy, Piesie Esther and Kofi Kinaata followed with two awards each.
Other artistes who received honours included Medikal, Shatta Wale, Kweku Smoke, Moliy, DopeNation, Keche, Kojo Blak, Wendy Shay, Beeztrap KOTM, Kwabena Kwabena and Enam, with each taking home one award.
Stonebwoy, Piesie Esther and Kofi Kinaata followed with two awards each, while Medikal, Shatta Wale, Kweku Smoke, Moliy, DopeNation, Keche, Kojo Blak, Wendy Shay, Beeztrap KOTM,
Kwabena Kwabena and Enam each won one.
Black Sherif began gaining attention with his early releases before breaking through nationally in 2021 with “First Sermon” and “Second Sermon.”
His career reached another level with “Kwakuthe Traveller,” which became a major hit in Ghana and across Africa.
He later released his debut album, The Villain I Never Was, in 2022, showcasing his blend of hip-hop, highlife and Ghanaian musical influences.
The album and his subsequent releases have earned him major awards and international recognition.
His four awards at GMAEU 2026 add another chapter to the music journey of one of Ghana’s prominent young artistes.
The ceremony once again brought together Ghanaian music talents and celebrated their contributions to the industry, both in Ghana and among audiences in the diaspora.
For Black Sherif, the four-award haul adds another significant achievement to a career that has risen rapidly since his breakthrough with “Second Sermon” and the global success of “Kwaku the Traveller.”
The rapper has continued to establish himself as one of Ghana’s prominent contemporary music acts.
