Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren is gunning for a strong showing at the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco. Ghana is in Group D with Cameroon, Mali, and Cape Verde.
“We will push to do an even better tournament this time,” Bjorkegren said, eyeing improvement on Ghana’s bronze medal finish in the last edition. The team is now Africa’s 3rd-ranked side, and Bjorkegren is leveraging the momentum.
“We face tough opponents, but I’m looking forward to the tournament,” he added. The top two teams in each group qualify for the quarterfinals, and semifinalists secure a spot at the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
The Black Queens are based in Fes for the group stage.
