Black Princesses Handed Tough Group at 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

Ghana’s Black Princesses have been drawn in a challenging Group C for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, where they will face former champions France, Korea Republic, and Ecuador.

The tournament, scheduled to take place from 5 to 27 September 2026, will provide the Ghanaian side with another opportunity to test themselves against some of the best emerging talents in women’s football on the global stage.

Coach Charles Sampson’s side will begin their campaign against European giants France, who are widely regarded as one of the favourites for the competition due to their rich pedigree and consistent performances at youth level.

The Black Princesses will then take on Korea Republic, a nation renowned for its tactical discipline, technical quality, and strong record in international youth tournaments.

Ghana will also face Ecuador, a rapidly improving side that continues to make steady progress in women’s football and is expected to provide stiff competition in the group.

With all four teams eyeing qualification to the knockout stage, Group C is anticipated to be one of the most fiercely contested groups of the tournament.

The Black Princesses will be aiming to advance beyond the group stage and make a significant impact in Poland, a feat that would further highlight the steady growth of women’s football in Ghana.

Ghana secured qualification for the tournament for the eighth consecutive time after edging Uganda 3-2 on aggregate in the final qualifying round.
