Flagbearer hopeful of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto has charged contenders and their supporters of the upcoming presidential primaries of the party on November 4 to desist from violence because, the election is not meant to break the Party.

According to him, the move is rather to help strengthen the party in unity to help break the 8 in the upcoming general elections in 2024.

Speaking at a news conference in Accra, the former minister of food and agriculture said, they are going to elect one of the four contestants to bear the flag of their noble party for the presidential elections scheduled in December 7 2024.

He indicated that, the upcoming presidential primaries offers an opportunity for all to unite behind one person to lead them to break the 8 and not to break the party.

He used the opportunity to thank NPP delegates who voted for him during the super delegates conference which gave him the opportunity to continue with his dream among the top five.

“I have been humbled by the decision of the super delegates to select me as one of the five candidates to contest for the flagbearer ship race on 4 of November 2023” he said.
