ATTEMPT TO SELL GHANA’S EMBASSY IN UK IS EMBARRASSING – GHANA’S HIGH COMMISSIONER TO UK

Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) Papa Owusu Ankomah has described the attempt by oil trading firm, Tranfigura to cease and auction the properties belonging to Ghana in the UK as embarrassing.

This comes as the government admits; it is struggling to pay off the $140M judgment debt awarded to Tranfigura.

As a result, the company has threatened to sell Ghana’s high Commissioner building which provides visa and other services in the UK.

It also serves as the residence of the commissioner. Papa Owusu Ankomah says the Finance Ministry is currently engaging the oil trading firm Tranfigura to liquidate the debt.
