Asante Kotoko have shifted their preseason preparations into a new gear as the Porcupine Warriors pitch camp in Accra for the second phase of their build-up, assembling a 26-player squad under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Eric Tinkler. The South African tactician is using the coastal base to fine-tune his charges and instil his preferred style of play ahead of the 2026/2027 Ghana Premier League campaign.
Following the initial phase of training, the club has trimmed the group and moved operations to Accra, where Tinkler continues the intensive work needed to rebuild a side that finished eighth last season. Several established players have been left behind in Kumasi to train with the youth team, while a handful of promising juniors have been handed the chance to impress and join the senior group.
The selected 26 will undergo further fitness work, tactical sessions and competitive preparation as the technical team evaluates options for the new season.
Tinkler, who took charge in mid-July with a clear mandate to restore Kotoko to title-contending form and continental contention, has already begun shaping the squad’s mentality and organisation.
