Are You No Longer A ‘Dead Goat’? – Nana Akomea Jabs Mahama

Nana Akomea has excoriated Ex-President and flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, over his recent jabs at the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.

The former President, in his quest for re-election in the December 7 presidential elections, has promised Ghanaians of a 24-hour economy and lambasted the current administration saying they have failed to improve the lives of Ghanaians.

We will show you the books and finances of this country, and you will realize the harm that the New Patriotic Party administration has done this country, the economy is broke”, he scolded President Akufo-Addo while addressing some NDC supporters at Hohoe in the Volta Region.

John Dramani Mahama also lashed out at the President saying now, corruption has broken loose and if it was in the IGP’s custody, it has broken the jail and is running all over the country. It’s obvious that the NPP has no desire or the ability to check corruption because their people are involved in the corruption, and they cannot deal with it.

He then pledged to deal with corruption and corrupt officials under his new government in 2025.

So I have said if they [the NPP] can’t deal with it when we come, we will deal with it for them. When the NDC comes, we will hold those who have misconducted themselves accountable. But I must also caution our people that those of us who go into positions of authority, if you also abuse your trust, I am not going to come and defend you.
But Nana Akomea has taken Mr. Mahama’s words with a pinch of salt.

Speaking in an interview with the media, the STC boss reminded Ghanaians of the past records of John Mahama while in government between 2012 and 2016.

When we gave you power, this is what you told the workers. You said you are a dead goat. You said when you kill a goat, it isn’t afraid of the knife because it is already dead. So, no matter what you do, even if you like go on strike from here to Kintampo, he won’t be perturbed. Is this not what he told Ghanaians?, he said wondering what has changed about him now.

You have done it before. We saw what you did…We have tried Mahama before and he failed us, Nana Akomea cautioned the citizenry against voting Mahama back into power.’
