Youth activist Ivan Kyei Innocent is demanding immediate action from the board and management of the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, as well as the Ministry of Health, regarding the alleged abandonment of a patient in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region.
On Thursday, June 13, rumors spread rapidly about the incident, and a video began circulating that purportedly shows a woman wrapped in sheets left in a bush.
Reports suggest that an ambulance from the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba was responsible for abandoning the woman.
Speaking on Ahotor FM‘s ‘Simpieso’ show with host Emmanuel Martey on Friday, June 14, Ivan condemned the act, calling it an extreme display of inhumanity that must be urgently addressed.
He insisted that all relevant stakeholders should be summoned to explain their roles in the incident.
Ivan emphasized that the case should be treated as a criminal matter and that those responsible must be held accountable to ensure justice for the victim.
He urged swift and decisive action to prevent such incidents from happening again and to restore public trust in the healthcare system.
