John Mahama Donates 5000 Cedis to KK Kabobo
John Dramani Mahama, former president of Ghana and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, has generously contributed 5,000 Ghanaian cedis to support KK Kabobo, a veteran Ghanaian musician, in covering his medical expenses. KK Kabobo, who is battling a liver disease, faced financial strain due to mounting hospital bills, prompting the call for external assistance.
Ghanaian broadcaster Barima Kaakyire Agyemang paid a courtesy call to the veteran musician and brought to the limelight what was going on revealing via a social media post that “After I broke the story of Veteran Musician K.K. Kabobo…. The flag bearer of the NDC His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has donated GH₵5000 to him. God bless you H.E. The family is grateful”.
Additionally, GHAMRO and various groups from Takoradi have extended their support, with GHAMRO providing 2,000 Ghanaian cedis towards Kabobo’s treatment.
Meanwhile, concerns have arisen over the healthcare of another veteran musician, Yaw Sarpong, stressing the need for better governmental policies to ensure adequate support for musicians, particularly during times of illness or old age.
The manager of Yaw Sarpong emphasized the importance of royalties as a form of pension for musicians, urging both prayers and financial contributions from fans to aid those in need within the industry.
