Black Queens are given less attention yet they are still performing – President Akuffo Addo
The President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has lamented the lack of attention given to the Black Queens, the country’s national women’s football team despite their consistent performance.
President Akuffo Addo made this revelation during the state of the nation address on the floor Parliament, where his call shed light on a prevalent issues in sports, the disparity in recognition between the Black Stars and the Black Queens.
Despite their achievements on the international stage, the Black Queens often receive minimal support and coverage compared to the Black Stars. This discrepancy not only undermines their hard work and dedication but also perpetuates gender inequality in sports.
The Black Queens have demonstrated their prowess time and again, showcasing skill, determination, and resilience. Yet, their accomplishments remain overshadowed by the spotlight on male-dominated sports.
It’s imperative that we recognize and celebrate their achievements, providing them with the support and resources they deserve.
