The new flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia have struggle to settle on the 61.4 % to clinch the position to contest the 2024 elections, looking at the huge state resources backing him to make 95% as pledged by members of parliament has failed. This performance is likely to send NPP into opposition in the next election.
The performance of the Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyepong charisma and political stagecraft with issues he raises questioning the state of the economy and the leadership of their own party performance earns him respect as a candidate to watch going in for any contest in the party.
Jeff Ashley a Social Activist, stated this on Simpieso political talk show on Ahotor 92.3 FM hosted by Emmanuel Martey (Alaska De Don).
He said the NPP has governed the country with sloganeering with deceit without any concrete development in the past seven years. He calls on the National Democratic Congress to prepare to put all structures in place to fight the Electoral Commission not to steal the election for NPP.
Jeff Ashley, opined that, the president Nana Akufo-Addo and the Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia don’t respond to the needs and welfare of Ghanaians and cannot be trusted and can never fulfilled their campaign promises.
The National Democratic Congress National Communication Team member Dela Edem, said strategically Dr. Bawumia candidature to lead the NPP in the 2024 election comes as no surprise since, he will be managed by the hawks from the flag staff house to do the deeds for the president and to cover up all the wrong doings of the government.
He is of the view that, the corruption, injustice and severe economic hardship the government has taken Ghanaians through for the past seven years speaks to the facts that, the desire for Ghanaians to give power to John Dramani Mahama, to develop the country is paramount.
Dela Edem, reiterated that, electing Dr. Bawumia as the leader of the party, attest to the fact that NPP have elected a weak candidate who was party of the bad governance, bad economy and weak leadership has driven the country into junk stators.
