Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong performance at the just ended New Patriotic Party Presidential Primaries points to the facts that, the grassroots of the party does not trust the new flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.
Further the percentage emerged as victorious with 63.24% in the NPP primaries, securing the party’s nomination for the race to be the leader and flag bearer of the NPP, and his closest contender Kennedy Ohene Agyapong who polled 35.52% while the former Agric Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto got 0.81% and Francis Addai Nimoh polled 0.43% shows clearly this is a total rejection of Dr. Bawumia.
The Akuapem North Youth Organiser of National Democratic Congress Ahmed Agbenyadzi stated this on Simpieso political show on Ahotor 92.3 FM hosted by Emmanuel Amartey (Alaska De Don) in Accra.
He said the credibility of the Vice President going into 2024 elections on the NPP tickets has already been rejected by the party.
Since with all the state machinery behind the established candidates, Members of Parliament, municipal chief executives and government functionaries and the results does not see any endorsement speaks to the fact that this is total rejection.
He calls on the National Democratic Congress Party to rally around John Dramani Mahamah to work hard to win power back to develop the country.
Speaking on the same platform Communication Officer of Shai-Osudoku Constituency Dennis Adjannor Nartey congratulated the police for maintaining law and order throughout the election exercise devoid of any violence.
He is of the view that, the NPP as a party doesn’t have any trust in the Vice president.
This is just a win for the NDC, but going forward the National Democratic Congress must work hard to burry all the differences and win power for John Dramani Mahamah
