Sagnarigu MP and member on the Communication Committee in Parliament, Hon ABA Fuseini has disclose on Ahotor Fm 92.3 on Thursday breakfast show that, the BoG has been disappointing and recent operations at the bank has made the state agency a crime scene.
Hon Fuseini told Citizen Kofi Owusu during an interview that, happenings at the central bank is delibelitating and disheartening.
The MP cited numerous occasion where the governor Dr. Ernest Addison and officials of BoG has been caught pant down following unexpalained circumstances leading to huge financial loss to the state.
Mr. Fuseini lamented on gaps in the annual accounts by the central bank and called for transparency in the approach of rendering accountability to the masses.
He said President Akufo Addo and the NPP are bent on collapsing the national kitty through nnecessary spending and profligate lifestyle by state actors.
Governor of the Bank of Ghana together with officials at the BoG provided explanation into the whereabouts of the said misappropriated funds but the MP disagreed.
On the other hand the public is outrage about the incessant overspending by government with little or no prove of developmental projects to match financial status by ordinary tax payers.
Hon ABA Fuseini underscored the need to champion proper financial regime to curtail gaps created by human interface in the face of protracted hardships in the country.
The Sagnarigu lawmaker took a swipe at some elements in government who are meddling in the operations of the bank of Ghana leading to state capture and financial loss to the masses.
In 2022 the Bank of Ghana allegedly printed over Ghc22 billion to foil weaknesses in the financial sector in the country. The Minority in Parliament revealed the details in the House but officials at the Bank challenged the NDC MPs to provide better particulars to buttress their claim since their defense is not compelling to bring out the real facts in the matter.
The Minority has given the strongest indication that they will not relent on their quest to seek accountability for the state.
Hon ABA Fuseini is of the view that, the country is heading towards the wrong direction under President Akufo Addo.
